10 world-class sailors launch the iShares Cup Extreme 40 Series in Paris
10 of the World’s best sailors are at the Eiffel Tower today (5 May) to launch the 2009 iShares Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Series. The first event is to take place in Venice, Italy, from 15 – 17 May.
Top French sailors Loick Peyron, Franck Cammas and Yann Guichard welcome international round-the-world sailors, America’s Cup campaigners and Olympians – including Mike Golding, Shirley Robertson and Nick Moloney – for the launch of the Extreme 40 tour.
The 2009 series is set to be a competitive one. This year’s teams include:

As well as seeing the sailing stars at the Eiffel Tower, four Extreme 40s (Groupama 40, BT, LUNA and iShares) will set sail for the first time along the River Seine.
