The final day of the Hayling Island SC open meeting weekend for the Osprey, Contender and Flying Fifteen classes presented a very different picture today, to the pleasant day yesterday. The increasing southerly wind gave rough conditions in Hayling Bay and saw gear damage and a lot of early retirements.

Graham Scott was the winner of the Contender class keeping a clean sheet, with Keith Paul moving up after the first day to take second overall. These two headed in to leave Nick Grace and Matt Aston to complete the final race and move into third and fourth respectively.

In the Flying Fifteens Bulwark Trophy, Barry and Sue Parkin followed up their double first of the opening day with a second to Charles Apthorp and Jonathan Clark to seal their overall win. With those two safely in first and second, it was Roger Palmer and Grayson Eacott who battled on to win the final race from Alan Bax and Paul Busby with Gill Browning and Simon Weatherill third. This gave Bax and Busby third overall.

The Osprey Open went to Andy Barker and Phil Angrove with three first places beating Oscar Chess and Nick Daily-Hunt into second. In the final race Adam Ellery and Richard Hann were the sole finishers and took third overall.
