After six months of testing and training in Miami and Sandefjord, the final crew for leg one of the Volvo Ocean Race has been selected for djuice dragons.
‘The construction of a team not a whimsical matter,’ says skipper Knut Frostad. ‘Every element of our personalities has been assessed to the smallest degree. When you’re sailing with someone in a boat for nine months, it’s more than a matter of “getting on well”. You have to ensure there are strong decision makers, questioners, workhorses, someone with an eye for detail and someone with an image of the big picture. Together, we form a Team made up of diverse but complementary characters and abilities.’
‘I have complete confidence in the crew. We have a great Team attitude and have worked hard on making every decision, large or small, together. We are definitely ready for the start line.’
djuice dragons will leave Sandefjord this Friday and be delivered to Ocean Village in Southampton by the sparring crew.
