Organisers of the Little Britain Challenge Cup, the annual construction industry regatta, have received over 200 entries within six days
The Little Britain Challenge Cup, the annual construction industry regatta, to be held in Cowes from 8-11 September, has received over 200 entries within six days of the brochure/entry form being issued.
The event is on course to achieve the 250-boat limit that the organisers have set for this year, the gathering still remains the second largest regatta in the UK after Skandia Cowes week and last year raised over £100,000 for the project charities. The regatta is based on the successful formula of a three-race series in the central Solent area with one short and one medium length race taking place on the Friday and one long race on Saturday.
The event is open to crews whose businesses are directly involved in the construction industry. In keeping with the spirit of the event, the number of owner’s representatives from outside the construction industry is limited to one per boat for boats under 11.5m loa, two for boats between 11.5m and 13m loa and three for boats of more than 13m loa.
