As the round the island race draws to a close, Valiant stops short of the finish - and sits on Gurnard Ledge on the lowest tide of the year
As the round the island race of the Jubilee Regatta draws to a close, the New York Yacht Club registered Valiant, racing in the Modern 12m class, has come to rest at an alarming angle on Gurnard Ledge.
With cricket teams gearing up for the annual Bramble Bank cricket match – traditionally played on the lowest astronomical tide of the year, which is today – Valiant looks set to be stuck for some time. Committee boats are standing by, but it is unclear as yet if there is any damage to her hull.
