A total of £3,500 was raised during the annual Children In Need charity pursuit race at Lymington Town Sailing Club
A total of £3,500 was raised during the annual Children In Need charity pursuit race at Lymington Town Sailing Club on Sunday 18 November. Nearly £1,000 of the money raised came from Ron Higgs’s Dutch auction after the race. Ron, a former steward of the club, has raised tens of thousands of pounds with his efforts since 1989.
Thirty keelboats took part in the pursuit race with Absolution (H. Mayers) winning.
In the dinghy fleet victory went to Richard Russell and Tig Williams’ 470 Waverider in the fast fleet with Roy Todd and Graham Newton winning the slow fleet in their Wayfarer.
