Newcastle dentist Ross Hobson with his crew of Guy Gibbins and Simon Redding aboard the 50ft trimaran Mollymawk who set a new Bermuda to Plymouth record last week (see previous news story here) have had their time ratified by the World Sailing Speed Record Council.

The new elapsed time world record is 14 days 6 hours 12 minutes 50 seconds, for an average speed of 8.38 knots.
