B&G are delighted to announce Nautor’s Swan have specified a comprehensive B&G Hercules 2000 system for their latest Swan 45 design, the prototype model which is currently undergoing sea trials in the Solent.
The system comprises B&G 20/20 data displays at the mast and cockpit, coupled with analogues and FFD (Full Function Displays) in the cockpit and nav station below. A B&G carbon vertical masthead unit is installed to reduce disturbed airflow from the sails. The system is completed with a B&G Loadcell, Autopilot, Gyrocompass, CND plotter and RaceVision unit installed.
The B&G Hercules 2000 system was the obvious choice for the new Swan 45 as Kjell Vesto, Technical Director at Oy Nautor Ab explains: “The Swan 45 is designed as a performance cruising yacht but also a very capable racing yacht, We specified the B&G Hercules 2000 as the overall package that the system provides suits the boat very well.”
The Hercules 2000 system has in fact proven itself time and time again and has become the leading choice of electronics package by owners of other premium cruising yachts including Wally. At a professional level too, all eight VOR 60s currently competing in the Volvo Ocean Race are fitted with advanced B&G Hercules 2000 systems. Around the World yachtswoman Ellen MacArthur, and American Steve Fosset aboard his record breaking catamaran Playstation also rank among those that have chosen B&G Hercules 2000 systems.
