Want to try single-handed offshore racing? This site tells you how to go about it.
RYA SOLO, the Royal Yachting Association’s single-handed offshore racing committee formed a year ago, has now launched a website at www.ryasolo.org.uk.
Aspiring Ellen MacArthurs and Pete Gosses should check this site out for advice about a career path in single handed sailing.
The RYA SOLO committee, comprising a core of Mark Turner, the UK Mini Association’s Ian McKay, the RYA’s Rod Carr and Yachting World Assistant Editor James Boyd, is currently planning to hold an event in the late spring where up and coming solo sailors can try their hand sailing on board one of the class 6.5m boats as used in the Mini Transat and on board several other Open class type yachts.
