Enterprise Process Management (EPM) software firm, Nimbus Partners Ltd, are teaming up with Audi in sponsorship of the Audi Laser Racing. Nimbus Partners will be sponsoring three boats that will be racing in what has become a benchmark for grand prix sailing.

The three UK boats sporting the control colours will be crewed by experienced and highly successful couples. Peter Barton and Simon Knathbull were in the top 10 in the Laser5000 last year, will be competing against Edinburgh-based Peter and Lisa Nicholas. Peter Nicholas represented New Zealand in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney where he came seventh. Lisa caught the bug for sailing when they met and now they sail together competitively around the world. Ian Gotts, CEO at Nimbus Partners will be sailing the remaining boat with his longstanding sailing and business partner Mark Cotgrove. “We are delighted to have such talent in the control boats. It is a challenging boat that is tactically great to sail and the boat’s ‘equalisation system’ means that everyone has an equal chance.”

Last year saw record entries of over 175 boats and over 350 competitors racing for prizes worth in excess of ‘20,000. The 2001 event promises to be even more spectacular with events in France, Italy and the UK. The tour will be supported by live interactive website coverage and televised coverage on the Sky Sports.
