Last night at a gala event in Brussels, OC Events were celebrating at the European Sponsorship Awards. Their joint entry for the iShares Cup, submitted in conjunction with iShares’ sponsorship agency Progressive Sports & Entertainment Marketing, won the Business to Business Category. The iShares Cup had also been shortlisted for the International Award along with Offshore Challenges Sailing Team’s ‘BT Team Ellen’ project. Also shortlisted for the same Award was OC Event’s ‘The Artemis Transat’ – so all in all a great night for sailing and for OC Group. The ESA European Sponsorship Awards are the only pan-European sponsorship awards celebrating excellence across all sectors – sport, culture, entertainment, media and corporate social responsibility.
The ESA Business to Business category is for sponsorship projects directed at a sponsor’s business partners, clients and distributors and the iShares Cup had been shortlisted alongside Accenture’s Silver Sponsorship of Skandia Team GBR, Friends Provident Trophy and BT Team Ellen.
The European Sponsorship Awards judges commented that the iShares Cup was, “a sponsorship that had everything – clear objectives, well-managed execution, good attendance by the target audience, and excellent evaluation. This was truly international, and was an excellent choice of event in that it clearly achieved everything that iShares had aimed for? and more.”
