Difficult weather conditions off Fogo have forced Bruno Peyron and his team aboard Orange II to change course and head for St Vincent, the most southerly lying island of the Cape Verde Islands. The original plan to head for the shelter of Fogo Island to carry out repairs to the damaged starboard hull (crack in the fairing which protects the engine propeller shaft) were scuppered last night when the rough seas off Fogo made it impossible to carry out the necessary inspection.
If all goes to plan, team Orange should arrive at St Vincent some time this morning where a decision will be made to inspect the boat.
