Mark Davies was the overall winner of the RS300 event at Bartley SC last weekend
Bartley Sailing Club’s round of the RS300 Fat Face Circuit was held on 20 June. The forecast north-westerly had not materialized by the first start and the fleet set off into a shifty westerly.
Mark Davies made the best of the first beat to lead at the windward mark, and then led for the whole race never to be headed, while there was a battle going on for third and fourth between Andrew Cross and Philip Edwards.
Conditions for the second race were not much different and Mark Davies once again coped better than the rest to win again followed by Mark Reddington with battle resumed for third between Cross and Edwards. The third race however, didn’t initially follow the same pattern with Reddington leading at the first mark. However, after the first lap allowed Davies pulled through and he went on to score another bullet, while the roles were reversed for third with Cross beating Edwards.
