Mike Budd leads after first four races
The first four races of the UK Laser SB3 National Championships have been completed in Falmouth with a steady set of conditions.
PRO, Jeff Martin commented on the quality of the racing: “Watching from the Committee Boat was quite a spectacle. In general the fleet were extremely well behaved during races one, two and three. Unfortunately it took four attempts to get the final race of the day away as the wind dropped and shifted twenty degrees to the left. The final downwind leg of race four became tactically challenging with competitors experiencing snakes and ladders results.”
Mike Budd, the only UK sailor who claims a National Championship title in four different decades, leads at the end of day one with ten points. Geoff Carveth, also on ten points, lies second.

The forecast is for less wind during the last two days of the event so a further four races are scheduled for today (Thursday 25 June).
