The Swedish Volvo Ocean Race entry SEB rounded Eclipse Island at 0348 this morning. Even though it is the first sight of land for some time, Eclipse is just a rock, elevating less than 100 metres out of the water with an old lighthouse on top of it.
Gurra Krantz gave an interview for the chasing camera-boat as they rounded the island but as soon they’d cleared, SEB’s navigator Marcel van Triest called for a tack, to head back south for the stronger winds that will take them to the Bass Strait.
Next to round will be illbruck, followed by Assa Abloy and News Corp. Djuice and Amer Sports One will also round today but Amer Sports Too will have to wait until tomorrow. The girls will be supplied with a new cooker at the island.
