Japanses sailor Kojiro Shiraishi onboard Spirit of Yukoh is expected to cross the Velux 5-Oceans Race Leg 2 finish line sometime today.

Shiraishi who’s in second place behind Bernard Stamm (who finished over a week ago) has finally picked up a decent breeze and at the last position report was just 80 miles away from the finish line off Norfolk, Virginia. Shiraishi will then be escorted in to the Waterside Marina, situated at Towne Point Park.

Apparently rather than his customary sushi and japanese food, Kojiro has requested a double quarter-pounder with cheese to traditional American fayre for his first meal as he steps ashore.
