Fireball sailors wishing to brush up on their racing skills could do worse than attend the Fireball training event at Draycote Water Sailing Club on 10-11 May. The course will be run by Adam Bowers, past Fireball World Champion and now coach to the RYA Olympic 470 squad. Don’t let that intimidate you though. As anyone who has ever met Adam will tell you he couldn’t care less what standard you are as long as you’re enthusiastic and love the boat.
The course is open to all standards of sailors including first time Fireballers who just wants to know where all the string goes, club sailors contemplating their first nationals, or those who want to move up from the middle of the nationals fleet to the front.
Throughout the weekend, Adam will be ably aided and abetted by some of the top names in Fireball sailing, so there’ll be no shortage of top tips to go around.
Places are filling up fast with 15 boats confirmed already. For more details about the training weekend and to book your space, contact Rachel Keeling on 020 7242 3672 or e-mail rachel@ldmspartnership.com or go to www.fireball-dinghy.org.uk
