Olympic Gold medallist, Iain Percy, has revealed that Skandia Life will be supporting his Star World Championship campaign.

Iain recently arrived in the UK from Los Angeles in time for the beginning of Skandia Life Cowes Week. He will take part in the prestigious Britannia Cup on Wednesday 7 August and is otherwise moving amongst the Skandia Squad boats to share his experience. He spent yesterday on board Skandia Passion, a Beneteau 31.7, skippered and crewed by 17- to 19-year-olds headed by Hannah White. The team gained enough sponsorship to charter the boat and and Iain commented, “they’re here through their own hard work and really deserve the support Skandia has given them.” Watch out for an interview with Hannah White here on Yachting World.

Iain and his team mate, Steve Mitchell, will return to Los Angeles next week to continue with their training programme before the start of the Star Worlds on 18 August 2002, for which they’re hopeful of a good result: “We’ve been training really hard for this event and we’re one of the people who could win.”
