A yacht was stolen from Crosshaven Boatyard, Cork on 25/26 October. This six-year-old, 34.2ft Jeanneau Sun Odyssey, Providence (ex Sweet News), has a white hull with identification number FR/IRI 0030297 – which may have 1 or 2 additional letters between the 00302 and the 97 moulded into the hull on the starboard quarter just below the toe rail. There is also hull damage on the starboard side which should be identifiable particularly from the inside of the boat.
She has a silver anodised double spreader rig with a Dutchman system on the main and a roller furling genoa, a Ratheon RX 10 radar scanner and Firdell Blipper radar reflector, and full spinnaker gear.
The equipment on the boat includes a leather covered wheel, a rigid boom vang, a blue cockpit sprayhood, a six-man liferaft, in a flat container, mounted forward of the sprayhood, Eberspacher heating, Garmin220 GPS with Chart Plotter and full instrumentation including a multifunction repeater at the chart table. There’s also a Yanmar 3 GM, 3 cylinder, 27hp diesel driving a fixed three-blade propeller – engine number 18508.
