Yachting World is its pictures, images of the biggest and best sailing events around the world from the best marine photographers. The Picture Editor is a key person on the editorial team.
We are looking for someone who can handle and track several thousand analogue and digital pictures each month; someone who can remain cool when everyone wants pictures at the same time; someone who has the flair to differentiate between a good and a very good image; someone able to deal tactfully with photographers of many different nationalities on a day to day basis and above all someone who is organised and self motivated.
Duties include managing the magazine picture needs on a day to day basis, picture research, liasing and negotiating rights and fees with agencies, libraries and individual photographers, working with the Art Editor on picture selection and with Syndication on picture sales from the extensive library. Applicants should be wizards with Apple Macs, fluent in Quark, PhotoShop, Internet and FileMaker Pro and understand the management and manipulation of digital images.
Applications to Andrew Bray, Editor, Yachting World, Room 2336, Kings Reach Tower, Stamford Street, London SE1 9LS or e-mail andrew_bray@ipcmedia.com.
No applications before 17 June please.
