This is a young man who loves the sea and is a credit to Britain’s rising generation of sailors. His passion and courage to tackle such a huge undertaking are greatly admired by the entire Whyte & Mackay team.”
Michael explained: “It’s not easy for me to part withCheeky Monkey; she is a great yacht and I will always have good memories of sailing her single handed across the Atlantic. Even though I hate to give her up, it’s a step I must take to enable me to pursue my dream of breaking the age record of sailing around the world.”
Peter Perham added: “I am so proud of Michael and what he has already accomplished. [His] decision to auction his belovedCheeky Monkeydemonstrates to me how fully committed he is to take on this world record and shatter it by two years.
