The two trophies that are in play this season – the Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup – left the Société Nautique de Genève in Switzerland on Tuesday on the final stage of the ‘Road to Valencia’ tour and will arrive in Valencia today.

The trophies have toured the European capitals of countries with teams in the event, beginning in Geneva, the home of the defender of the America’s Cup, Alinghi. Further stops in Rome, Paris, and Berlin have led into the Madrid stop at the beginning of this week.

Although it’s still 100 days before the first race in the America’s Cup Match the 12 America’s Cup teams will being racing much earlier than that. In less than three weeks, on 3 April, Valencia Louis Vuitton Act 13 will mark the beginning of the ultimate, decisive season in the 32nd America’s Cup. The 11 challengers will continue racing through April, May and June for the Louis Vuitton Cup and the right to face Alinghi in the America’s Cup Match, commencing 23 June.
