Consistently strong winds this morning forced the race committee at Skandia Cowes Week to postpone racing for three hours.

However, with the wind gently abating as forecast, racing has now resumed with the Laser SB3s starting at 1300 from the usual Squadron Line. However, some aof the racing for the White Group including the Sonars, RSK6, RS Elites, Swallows, Flying 15s, Redwings, Squibs, Seaview Mermaids, Sunbeams, Victorys and XODs, has been cancelled for the day.

There is no change in the Black Group starts except for Class 0 starting at Mother Bank from a committee boat in the eastern Solent.

The current weather situation at 1400 is 14-18 kts from the north-north-west. The forecast is for the wind to drop further throughout the afternoon.
