Skandia Cowes Week Racing postponed
Principle Race Officer, Simon van der Byl of The Royal Yacht Squadron, announced a postponement at 0900. Bright sunshine and clear blue skies greeted the competitors at breakfast this morning but unfortunately, a lack of wind, means that there is a delay in any action on the Solent.
Johnny Greenland has been helming John Shepherd’s Ker 46, Fair Do’s VII, this week commented;
“The wind speed has barely reached over two knots this morning and directly from the north but a circle of clouds has developed across the main land which is a good indication that sea breeze will develop, in my opinion the Race committee have made a good call, I expect there to be plenty of breeze later in the day but it would be very difficult to lay a fair course anywhere at the moment.”
