A summary of how the Brits got on today and how they lie overall
The Meltemi might have been forecast to blow, there may have been northerly wind inland, but as the sea breeze built in opposition the conditions got tricky on the race course.
Tornado – 14th Overall
Leigh McMillan & Mark Buckeley – A 7th and a 14th moves them up one place overall.
Star – 9th overall
Iain Percy & Steve Mitchell – A good start for the first two legs, but as the day progressed the fickle breeze helped deal a tough blow at the end to leave them 6th. The second race was abandoned as the fighting sea and gradient breezes cancelled each other out
49er – Currently 2nd overall
Chris Draper and Simon Hiscocks – Pulled themselves back from a dreadful start to finish 4th. Now back in contention with four races to go.
Men’s Windsurfer – 4th overall
Nick Dempsey – A 1st and a 6th, good results, especially in the second race when Nick pulled 10 places back, but not enough to move up the overall rankings. Last race is on Wednesday and Nick will have his work cut out to claw back 11 points to win bronze.
Women’s Windsurfer – 11th overall
Natasha Sturges – An 11th and a 15th. Last two races to be sailed on Wednesday.
